Neil Warnock in galling Aberdeen FC confession as sickened fans revolt at flops and boss fears the worst

Neil Warnock isn’t confident he can stop Aberdeen’s season dropping into freefall.

The veteran manager, however, believes his experience could be vital in keeping the Dons out of the drop zone. The fans chanted: “You are not fit to wear the shirt” and “Sack the board” after the 2-0 home defeat to St Johnstone - leaving them both four points away from the play-off place.

Warnock stated: “When you look at the goals we’re conceding I don’t think anybody can be confident but I’m glad I’m here as it looks like we need experience here to get more out of what we’ve got. We’ve been offered two or three this week but I’m not sure they are any better and I’d be doing it just for the sake of it. I need to get more out of what I’ve got. One long ball can’t be a goal at any level in any shape or form. It is soul destroying at the minute which is why I can understand the fans’ frustration. We’ve got to commit more and do better which is what I’ll be trying to do in the next few games.”
