Brendan Rodgers has Celtic quip ready for Jane Lewis as one reason behind demolition job ruled out

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers drew a line under the controversial comments he made to Jane Lewis as he joked about the row with the BBC reporter.

The Hoops ran riot at Celtic Park as they demolish Dundee with a first-half blitz as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Adam Idah, Matt O'Riley, Daizen Maeda, Greg Taylor and Callum McGregor got on the scoresheet. Youngster Daniel Kelly came off the bench to net his first goal for the club in the second half to round off the scoring - and send an emphatic message to their doubters in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Following the massive scoreline, the boss was in much better spirits during as he faced the media for his post-match debrief when compared to his irked press conferences after a last-gasp win over Motherwell. The spiky interview with Lewis dominated the post-match talking points as Rodgers abruptly shut down the chat before adding "good girl" - which was viewed by some as a sexist comment.

Speaking to Sportsound, Lewis put Rodgers on the spot again. She asked: "Just finally, was that performance coming do you think? Or did something spark it, did you say something midweek to get the players fired up for this kind of match?"

The Celtic boss joked: "It certainly wasn't what I said to you!" Lewis laughed: "I think we will leave that one there!".
