Million Manhoef to Rangers transfer would RELEGATE Vitesse as shot callers hit the fear over January exit

Vitesse Arnhem will veto any January deal to take Million Manhoef to Rangers as it would result in RELEGATION from the Eredivise.

The Dutch outfit could cash in on the winger, who is attracting interest from Spain and England as well as Glasgow. Philippe Clement, along with director of football Nils Koppen, seem to be scouring the Dutch market as they seek winter reinforcements. The wide areas require attention, with Abdallah Sima away on AFCON duty with Senegal and not guaranteed to sign a permanent deal from Brighton.

Ross McCausland has burst on to the scene but the youngster but Clement will likely be keen to spare his breakout star from carrying the full burden on a weekly basis. Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright seem destined to continue in their roles as fringe men under the Belgian, so upgrades out wide are required, certainly in the longer term.

Manhoef reportedly fits the bill, but De Gelderlander report that Vitesse boss Edwards Sturing and technical director Benjamin Schmedes are aligned on their thinking in that selling Manhoef would be disastrous for their survival chances. The club colourfully known as FC Hollywood at the Rhine are propping up the table with 11 points from 16 matches.

Losing their star men now isn't on the agenda, so any attempt to land Manhoef in January is likely to be blocked. A summer switch could be more likely, either if Vitesse go down and need their bigger earners off the wage bill, or Manhoef helps keep them up and is then allowed to move on.
