Michael Beale told THREE Rangers signings will be enough as catching Celtic doesn't need 'wholesale' factor

Michael Beale only needs three signings this summer - and doesn't need to rip up his Rangers squad any further.

That's the view of former Ibrox scout Neil Murray who believes a striker, a winger and a new No.1 will suffice. Rangers announced on Tuesday that Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent will be leaving alongside Filip Helander, Scott Arfield and veteran shotstopper Allan McGregor. Scott Wright and Jon McLaughlin have also been told they can leave and it's set to be a summer of change at Edmiston Drive.

Midfielder Kieran Dowell and keeper Jack Butland are among the targets although Beale played down talk over Jose Cifuentes, who appeared to confirm the transfer with his social media activity. But Murray feels as long as they land a new keeper and replacements for Kent and Morelos, that will do nicely for Beale next season.

He told PLZ Soccer: "I think they need a striker to replace Morelos, a winger with pace that can score goals to replace Kent, and a goalkeeper. They're the three key positions.

"After that, you can maybe find players here and there. But does he really need wholesale changes? I don't know. It's difficult to bring 12 players in and mix them up to find a starting 11."
