Viktor Gyokeres in Rangers transfer mission impossible as Michael Beale 'admiration' stumped by big bucks hurdle

Viktor Gyokeres is one on the radar of Rangers boss Michael Beale - but any hope of a transfer chase may end before it even starts.

The Swedish hitman was on fire for Coventry City as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, scoring 21 times for Mark Robins' Championship side. He couldn't help them over the playoff final line against Luton Town but the striker himself will likely have the chance to make that leap south.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Brentford, Burnley and Wolves are all "monitoring" the 25-year-old with the transfer window soon to open. But the report also claims that Rangers boss Michael Beale is an 'admirer' but chances of landing the Swede would prove few and far between if Coventry stick firmly to their asking price. £30 million is what they will demand, it is claimed, as Burnley also look at the forward.

That price bracket would put any chance Beale has of turning admiration to a signature in the distance and needing a significant climbdown from Coventry. He has already signed Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling as part of his rebuild.
