Michael Beale tells Rangers fans they 'could help the players more' as furious Ibrox boos branded HARSH

Under-fire Michael Beale vowed to battle on as Rangers manager - despite falling further behind Celtic in the title race and being booed by Ibrox fans.

His side were beaten 3-1 at home by Aberdeen, which left the Englishman clinging on to his job. Gers are now seven points off their Old Firm rivals at the top of the Premiership table, having lost three of their first seven league games. And Beale somehow has to galvanise his players ahead of a Europa League tie in Cyprus on Thursday before taking on in-form St Mirren next Sunday.

Beale knows his fate will be decided by the Ibrox hierarchy who hired him last November. But despite the majority of Ibrox punters already making up their mind on his future, he’s adamant that he’ll fight to turn it around. And he believes it was HARSH on his players to be jeered off at half-time 1-0 down to the Dons. He said: “It was a horrible day and a terrible result. The coming games will tell if we can turn it around?

“I don’t want to sit and talk things up after a result like that against a rival in Aberdeen. Coming into the game, I couldn’t see that result. And certainly after the first half, we didn’t deserve that outcome.

“But it’s what we got and it’s not good enough. Am I confident I'll get the time to turn it around? That’s someone else’s decision. All I can do is continue with the job the best I can.

“I felt we were prepared well enough tactically. But it’s a really bad result and I feel the fans' frustration and despair. Because we share that inside as staff and players.

“Listen, it’s a situation that has escalated much faster than I thought it would. I thought it was harsh to boo the players off at half-time.
