Michael Beale sacked by Rangers LIVE as interim coaching team confirmed after axe falls

Michael Beale's time at Rangers is officially over as the beleaguered boss paid the price after less than a year in charge.

A third Premiership defeat in seven games to Aberdeen proved unforgivable to the Ibrox fans who made their feelings clear again with some loud boos. It had become breaking point after an unconvincing start to the season and the Ibrox hierarchy have responded with haste as fans continued to rage following the loss.

It took just over 24 hours from the damaging defeat at home in which Beale himself conceded his future was uncertain, but now the Ibrox outfit must face Europa League action with Steven Davis to lead on an interim basis. Former Ibrox man Alex Rae is also now in the fold

Beale's spell in Glasgow was by no means the whirlwind of success he promised as he replaced Gio Van Bronckhorst last year, but himself only lasted less than a year in post in Glasgow. It leaves the Light Blues now searching for their third manager in three years and with the season in full swing at a critical point.

Stick with us for all the latest as Beale is no longer Rangers manager

And Beale now joins the list of former Rangers managers and while his win percentage looks healthy, he leaves Ibrox with no trophies, writes Mark Walker.
