Michael Beale has 7 Rangers reasons he can't make any excuses and Ibrox boss must deliver on his transfer bargain

The Rangers board have certainly backed Michael Beale and now it is up to him to show he can deliver.

The finishing touches are now being put to deals for Danilo and Jose Cifuentes. That would take Beale’s summer signings up to nine. Beale’s squad now looks almost unrecognisable from last season. Yes, a few of them have been free transfers but there has also been a fair bit of outlay in fees. Danilo doesn’t come cheap from Feyenoord, while Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers came in for decent sums from Cremonese and Atalanta, respectively. There will also be a fee required to bring in Cifuentes early from LA this month.

Beale looks to have got most things he has asked for and his playing squad had certainly been overhauled. It now very much has the look of his own squad. Yes, there are some other players he has inherited and will still want out but that might take more time. He has been backed by the Ibrox hierarchy and now they and the fans will be looking for an instant return on the field.

Now, there can be no excuses. Beale has his players and now he must show he can go toe-to-toe with Celtic when it really matters. Celtic haven’t lost too many players. Jota went for £25million but Celtic have brought in five others to strengthen across the park.

The Light Blue side of Glasgow will be hoping the changeover from Ange Postecoglou to Brendan Rodgers may work in their favour but the bottom line is that it will come down to what Beale’s men produce on the park.

Rangers certainly have more strength and depth across their squad. The one thing they lacked last season was a regular goalscorer.
