Michael Beale reacts to 2 Rangers transfer rumours as boss sets the record straight on swirling names
Michael Beale fielded questions on Rangers' remaining transfer business as he spoke to the media in Switzerland ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Servette.
The Ibrox boss has been clear he has signings left to make and said following their win over Livingston at the weekend that a clear replacement for Ryan Kent is still on the agenda - though challenged Rabbi Matondo to step in and fill his shoes. But another centre-back could also be on the way in and this week Bristol City's Zak Vyner emerged as a reported target.
Reports down south claimed Vyner, who spent time on loan at Aberdeen previously and was one of the English Championship's most consistent centre-backs last season, was of interest to Beale. But the Englishman wasn't beating around the bush as he addressed the rumour, saying: "No, no truth in that one whatsoever."
In terms of outgoings, Beale reiterated at the weekend Glen Kamara is highly likely to leave and he hasn't been involved in a competitive game this season. English Championship side Leeds have been one of the clubs linked. Beale was less firm on those links but said there is "nothing in that one at the moment."
