Mason Mount sends clear Man United message amid transfer exit links

Mason Mount has showcased his love for Manchester United despite recent reports suggesting he could be sold by Erik ten Hag this summer.

Mount arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 after a difficult end to life at Chelsea. However, things did not get any easier for the England international as a series of injuries halted any momentum he was looking to build at his new club.

The midfielder has made just 20 competitive appearances for the Reds and only just managed to return at the end of last season for a brief cameo in the FA Cup final. Last month, reports in HITC explained that United had set their price for how much it would take to sell Mount this summer: £60m.

This was in full contradiction to the words of Erik ten Hag, though, who seemed to imply that Mount was firmly in his plans for the new season. "You can’t judge his season, because he was injured. Don’t judge him," he insisted.

"When he is fit he will be a very good player for us and we can use him, versatile. You need certain types in the squad, team players, multifunctional players, definitely he is one of the players who can play in several positions, he will help the team."

Despite claims his future is uncertain, Mount chose to ignore the noise and share his love for the club on social media. Taking to his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon, the 25-year-old shared two pictures of himself in the new United home and away strips.

It appears despite the rumours, Mount is more than happy to stay at Old Trafford this summer.
