Man United identify dream transfer solution as Mason Mount can unlock next signing

Manchester United have enjoyed a slightly better transfer window than they have become accustomed to in recent years but Ineos will still be on the hunt for more.

MEN Sport understands the Reds are advancing with their approach for PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan is a top target for United who are looking to strengthen their midfield after a shaky spell for Casemiro last season.

According to Football Insider, United have put a £5m asking price on Christian Eriksen ahead of the deadline. The Dane is out of favour at Old Trafford and is unlikely to receive a new contract once his current deal expires.

Ajax have been linked with him previously but this deal now looks unlikely due to the Amsterdam club reportedly needing to make sales before they could afford him.

MEN Sport says: "While Eriksen is a player United want to sell, there is clearly a reluctance from the Dane to move on. He told reporters during the pre-season tour that he is committed to seeing out the remainder of his contract in the Premier League. Bringing in £5m for the midfielder would be a boost for the Reds considering they brought him in for free after his Brentford contract expired and a departure appears to be the dream solution for all parties at this point, with Eriksen not expected to feature much for United this season
