Manchester United transfer news LIVE plus takeover updates as Erik ten Hag addresses quadruple talk

Manchester United are turning their attention to their Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday following a run of terrific cup results.

After a memorable win over Barcelona in the Europa League, Erik ten Hag lifted his maiden trophy in the Carabao Cup final three days later. United showed even more character on Wednesday by coming back against West Ham to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

A week on from their Wembley triumph, Liverpool will attempt to test United's title chase resolve as the Reds try to close the gap to the leading pack.

United are still on for a quadruple this season although Ten Hag has played down any such talk. Meanwhile, the takeover process rumbles on as summer transfer links with the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Victor Osimhen continue to grow.

TODAY'S BIG TALKING POINT: How will United fare against Liverpool this weekend? Have your say here.

"I think Man United is the team in form at the moment, maybe together with Arsenal and City are [also] doing well.

"The teams up there are all in a pretty good moment and I didn’t see yet the line-up [for United’s Emirates FA Cup game with West Ham United] but maybe they changed quite a few?

"That means some of them will be a bit fresher than us, but it’s a home game and it’s Anfield. I thought Anfield proved a point tonight [in 2-0 win vs Wolves] again, it was super, super-enjoyable.

"It felt like a proper unit, we were all together – I loved that. That’s what we need again on Sunday, but of course, it will be difficult."
