Manchester United transfer news LIVE Fulham reaction, fixture news and Man Utd takeover latest

Manchester United booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a dramatic 3-1 win over Fulham at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon.

After falling behind to Aleksandar Mitrovic's 50th-minute opener, United made the most of 60 seconds of chaos to flip the game on its head and book a last-four date with Brighton & Hove Albion at Wembley next month. After Jadon Sancho saw a goal-bound effort blocked on the line by Willian, who had used his arm, chaos ensued on the M16 playing surface, as Willian, Mitrovic and Fulham head coach Marco Silva were all sent off in the space of just 60 seconds.

Willian was dismissed for blocking Sancho's effort, Mitrovic saw red for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh and Silva was given his marching orders for his reaction to the initial decision on the touchline. Once all of that was sorted out, Bruno Fernandes converted the penalty to bring United level, ahead of Marcel Sabitzer scoring his first goal for the club less than two minutes later to put United 2-1 up.

Fernandes scored his second in stoppage time to ensure United signed off for the international break with a win and a place in the semi-finals secured. They now have just under two weeks until they are next in action, meaning boss Erik ten Hag will no doubt welcome the conclusion of what has been a relentless period.
