Manchester United three-second spell vs Dortmund gave glimpse of Erik ten Hag dream

Manchester United's pre-season tour may have come to a disappointing end against Borussia Dortmund, but there were plenty of encouraging signs for Erik ten Hag ahead of the new season nonetheless.

Pre-season provides a good opportunity to strengthen the bonds between players both on and off the pitch, with United's players also working hard on the training pitch to implement the manager's strategy. The evolution in terms of United's style of play has continued, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana offering improved options within the Dutchman's squad.

While Onana will provide a formidable proposition between the sticks, it is no secret that Ten Hag wants the Cameroonian to help improve his side's ability to play out from the back. His pinpoint passing ability was on display again against Dortmund with his range of distribution a welcome addition to the squad.
