Asda fans praise ‘genius’ idea to save £100s for Christmas

Asda has announced it will introduce a new feature to its loyalty app that will incetivise customers to save up for Christmas.

The Christmas Saver Cashpot will be added into the Asda Rewards app to allow customers to save their 'Cashpot' for spending over the Christmas period. Customers could save up to £300 by transferring from their Cashpot into their Christmas Saver Cashpot.

Meanwhile, a cash bonus will be added to the transfer depending on how much is added, ranging from £1 to £5 in bonuses alone - this feature will be added between November 20 and November 24. Between November 24 and December 31, customers will be able to convert their Christmas Saver Cashpot into vouchers which can be spent online or in an Asda store.

For those who want to get the most out of their Christmas saving, Asda also offers a Christmas Savings Gift Card which can be used to top up with the benefit of receiving a bonus from Asda in November. However, to take advantage of this, the card needs to be loaded before November 12 so they can receive a bonus worth up to £15.

Shoppers on social media have praised the new feature, branding it as a brilliant idea to help them prep for Christmas. On Facebook, Alison said: "Glad they decided to do this I’ve just transferred £113 over for people looking for it it’s right at the bottom so easy to do well a head now."

Meanwhile, Layla said: "Yes!!!! This is what I wanted my savers card for. However u have to spent points within 6 months of getting them. Meaning I've only just started saving for xmas. This will make things easier."
