It's the start of a new week and the Manchester United takeover saga looks set to go into July.

Supporters are now absolutely desperate for a resolution - or at least some kind of updates on proceedings, with Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe still the two leading parties. There has been no communication or clarity provided by the Glazer family, since they made their intention to 'explore strategic alternatives' clear in November.

This whole situation cannot be helping manager Erik ten Hag, who is trying to build a squad capable of improving on last season's third placed finish in the Premier League. England internationals Mason Mount and Harry Kane have been linked with summer moves to Old Trafford, along with several other stars, but the club are yet to make their first move in the transfer window.

The Glazer family put Manchester United up for sale in November, but since then progress has been minimal. The American owners are currently weighing up two bids from wealthy duo Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

A major difference between the offers is the percentage of the club which each individual wants to buy. Sheikh Jassim is hoping to buy 100 per cent of the club, while Ratcliffe is aiming to secure 60 per cent.

Reports suggest Ratcliffe has offered to keep Avram and Joel Glazer on as minority shareholders, a move that would be hugely unpopular among the United fanbase. Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim has promised to clear the club’s debt and upgrade facilities.
