Manchester United takeover news LIVE Sheikh Jassim exit rumours and Man Utd stock price drops
The Glazers will continue to mull over their offers for Manchester United today as the takeover process rumbles on.
United's American owners announced in November they were looking for strategic alternatives to push the club forward. This included the potential to fully sell the club to a new owner.
Since then, United fans have sat tight and waited for updates on the process. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is reportedly in pole position to takeover but some rumours suggested he was getting ready to pull out because of the indecision surrounding the Glazers.
However, BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone dismissed these claims and said the Qatari banker remains fully committed to the takeover. Meanwhile, it was a bad day for United's stock price as it suffered a 2.38 per cent drop on Monday to close at $23.60 on the New York Stock Exchange.
Take a look at all the news from the takeover below:
While not a specific indicator on whether a takeover is going to come to fruition or not, ordnarily the share price rises at a business when it is about to be taken over.
However, with the stocks dropping by 2.38 per cent on Monday, this suggests a takeover is not imminent and, as many supporters fear, the saga is set to carry on further.
