Manchester United 'set to battle Liverpool FC and Chelsea for Victor Osimhen' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly set to enter a three-way battle with Liverpool and Chelsea for the signing of Victor Osimhen.

Napoli's talisman scored a whopping 31 goals in 39 appearances as he helped secure Serie A for his club. However, according to RMC Sport's Sacha Tavolieri, Osimhen has his heart set on leaving the Italian giants this summer.

Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed this week the Nigerian striker had agreed in principle a two-year contract extension but the club would listen to offers if they were too good to turn down. Despite De Laurentiis being adamant about his club's stance, Tavolieri claims Osimhen is on his way out of the club.

He added how United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all interested in his services but Napoli have the upper hand because of his contract not expiring until 2025. The onus is now on the three Premier League heavyweights to submit bids which would be deemed acceptable by the Naples club.

Elsewhere, The Mirror is claiming Ten Hag is now reluctant to spend big money on a goalkeeper to replace David de Gea. MEN Sport understands United want to sign a new first-choice shot-stopper because of the current uncertainty surrounding the Spaniard's future.

De Gea is out of contract at the end of next week and the Reds are in the dark about his decision. It is believed Ten Hag wants to keep the long-serving 'keeper but wishes to reduce his current salary.

Porto's Diogo Costa and Inter Milan's Andre Onana have been linked with United but would both come at a hefty price. Costa has a £75m release clause while Onana only joined the Champions League runners-up last year so would also command a big fee.
