Manchester United predicted line-up vs Aston Villa as Raphael Varane and Kobbie Mainoo start

Manchester United will be targeting a fourth successive victory in all competitions when they lock horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.

United, who came from behind to beat Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford on Boxing Day and maintained their recent resurgence with a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham United last time out. Goals from Alejandro Garnacho (2) and Rasmus Hojlund made it back-to-back Premier League wins.

The victory over West Ham moved United up to sixth in the table, boosting their chances of clinching Champions League qualification for next season. At the time of writing, they are currently eight points behind fourth-placed Villa, highlighting the size of this weekend's meeting between the two clubs.

Manager Erik ten Hag made just one change to his starting line-up for the clash with West Ham from the win at Wolves three days earlier, bringing Harry Maguire back into the equation at Raphael Varane's expense. Varane will be chomping at the bit to return at Villa Park and fill the void that will be vacated by the injured Lisandro Martinez.

As ever, Andre Onana is expected to continue in goal. He has started each of United's 23 Premier League matches this season and that trend is expected to continue in the Midlands.

As for the back-four, Diogo Dalot is highly likely to continue at right-back after producing excellent performances against Wolves and West Ham, while Luke Shaw, because of a lack of depth, is expected to continue at left-back.
