Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot gives honest assessment of his performances

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot believes he's in the best form of his career after regaining his starting role at right-back.

Dalot was rewarded with a new five-year contract at Old Trafford in May and he has started the last seven games in all competitions, which has seen him earn praise for his displays.

Last weekend, the 24-year-old made an excellent challenge on West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen to prevent a golden opportunity and he's been key in the recent improved results.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is currently sidelined with an injury but he played at left-back against Tottenham - while Dalot started on the opposite side - before picking up that issue.

Although Wan-Bissaka and Dalot have competed to start at right-back, the latter is currently edging the battle and has suggested he's in the best form of his career.

“Probably, yes," Dalot told club media. "I mean it’s difficult to qualify it when you don’t get the results. I think you don’t see it the same way as if you probably were winning every time, every game.

"But now the results are coming. The work that we’ve been doing in the past, I think it’s starting now to pay off. We’re starting to get our rewards from it in the second part of the season.

"We know that we didn’t start the way that we wanted but now we look forward to these last few months and try to change it. And, obviously, individually, I’m trying to give my best for the team.

“It’s something that I try to do as much as I can [be consistent], of course, to try to be available for the manager every time. I’ve been fortunate to be available for every game. So that makes
