Manchester United 'plotting' fresh Jarrad Branthwaite transfer bid as target 'keen' on move

Manchester United are reportedly readying a fresh bid for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of two failed bids from Old Trafford this summer, with United refusing to meet Everton's £70m asking price. Erik ten Hag is still keen to add another defender to his squad after welcoming Leny Yoro for an initial £52million.

He has since sustained an injury and will be sidelined for three months. Branthwaite meanwhile, has become a key player for the Toffees after returning from a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven last year.

Everton's defensive record was crucial in their Premier League survival last term. According to The Sun, United are keen to test Everton once again and are 'plotting' a fresh bid for the 22-year-old.

Elsewhere, former United loanee Sofyan Amrabat is keen to return to the club this summer after spending last season on loan at Old Trafford. Italian outlet La Nazione (via Inside Futbol) reports that the Moroccan international has his heart set on a return to United and is at 'risk' of being excluded from Fiorentina's team.

The Reds did not take up the option to make the deal permanent earlier in the summer, although he has been pictured on their official club website wearing the new 2024/25 home kit.

With that said, United could still return for the player and negotiate a fee with the Italian outfit. Amrabat was subject of a (£9m) €10m offer
