Steady enough in defence against a testing opponent in Heung-min Son. Fine interception to thwart Son from James Maddison's pass. 6

Had a few dicey moments but did not overly expose himself. Did not relish being pitted against Tottenham's ebullience and made errors. 5

Lisandro Martinez

Intervened a couple of times in the first half and unfortunate his miscue dropped for Sarr to score. Could have given away a penalty and flicked the ball into his own net. 5

Luke Shaw

Spurs had too much joy down Shaw's side and he was nowhere near Dejan Kulusevski for the opening goal. Ought to have assisted Bruno Fernandes. 4

Casemiro

Had a better understanding with Mason Mount on their second competitive start together but overwhelmed by Spurs's energetic midfielders. 5

Mason Mount

Enjoyed his best half since he signed. Pressed effectively and neat on the ball. Mount looked more settled but he was quieter after half-time. 6

Too casual on the ball again and he had plenty of it. Struck the post shortly after Spurs went 1-0 up and that is endemic of this €100million work in progress. 3

Bruno Fernandes

Missed a sitter with a free header from Shaw's cross and booked for backchatting. His influence was nigh-on non-existent beyond the pause and he almost always gave away the ball. 3

Alejandro Garnacho

Better than against Wolves and he should have had a penalty when his shot hit Cristian Romero's hand. Faded once Spurs seized momentum. 5
