Manchester United might start 17-year-old against Manchester City after 'aggressive' comment

How does it feel to play for Manchester United in front of thousands of fans at just 17 years old?

Just ask Harry Amass, who started against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool on tour in the USA.

"I enjoy it, man," he said. "In front of the crowds, playing with the best players, I’m enjoying it. You’ve just got to show your aggressive side. You might be young, smaller than the opponent, but you have to show you are aggressive and don’t back down. Then you can have a good game."

Amass spoke to Manchester-based reporters in the mixed zone in the Snapdragon Stadium last week and a start against Liverpool in Columbia followed that conversation.

The youngster was asked about a potential start in the Community Shield against Manchester City and said: "No conversations have been had yet, but this pre-season is a chance to prove that if I am picked I can do it. Obviously we’ll see what happens when Luke [Shaw] and Tyrell [Malacia] come back.

"My intention is to play first-team football at this club. I think if the opportunity comes, I’ve got to take it with both hands, it could change my career. I am just waiting for that moment, I am ready."

Luke Shaw started for England in the final of the European Championship against Spain and has been given an extended break, while Tyrell Malacia is still recovering from injury.

Malacia last played a competitive fixture for the Netherlands in June last year and has faced a prolonged period on the sidelines due to a knee injury, which required two rounds of surgery.
