Manchester United might have been given top-four race boost by Liverpool FC and Chelsea

When Erik ten Hag was appointed as the new manager of Manchester United, many fans were resigned to giving him a season to implement his style of play and build due to the strength of their rivals. But although it's early in the season, have they been given a way in?

United started the season terribly, losing to both Brighton and Brentford, but three wins in a row against Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester City finds them 7th with a game in hand on some of the teams above them. And it seems that in these games Ten Hag has found a way to negate some of the issues that the team fell foul of in their two losses.

David de Gea no longer looks to kick it short, instead booting it long at every opportunity and Cristiano Ronaldo has been benched in favour of three dynamic and energetic forwards who are able to press the opposition from the front. But on Sunday they will face their hardest test yet against an Arsenal team who currently have won every single game.
