Manchester United have four players preparing for their final audition this weekend

Manchester United will sign off their pre-season campaign this weekend with a doubleheader against Lens and Athletic Club.

Erik ten Hag will get one final opportunity to look at his players before the Premier League restarts on August 14 against Wolves. For some of United's squad, whose futures are uncertain, it could be their final audition ahead of the new season.

Manchester United already have two new recruits, with Rasmus Hojlund set to make that a hat-trick with his imminent arrival from Atalanta. Any further additions will likely have to be offset by outgoings.

Ten Hag has players in mind he would like to offload, whilst others are in a halfway house, either first-team dependables nor expendable without sufficient replacement. For those players, this last opportunity in pre-season is their chance to change that perception.

Harry Maguire has been the subject of transfer interest from Wes Ham United. The Reds rebuffed a £20million offer for his services earlier in the window and no follow-up offers have been forthcoming.

The Englishman lost the captaincy and now finds himself fourth in the centre-back pecking order, with Luke Shaw arguably ahead of him too. However, with multiple competitions to compete in and a tight fixtures list, Ten Hag is happy for him to fight for his place.
