Four things spotted in Manchester United training as Erik ten Hag gets attacking boost

Manchester United will be looking to keep up their perfect start to the season when they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

United, who squandered a 2-0 goal lead to draw 2-2 on their last visit to north London, got the new Premier League campaign off to a winning start on Monday night with a 1-0 triumph over Wolves at Old Trafford. Raphael Varane netted the only goal of the game to seal a narrow win for Erik ten Hag's side.

Despite starting the season with three points, United were second best for most of the contest against the Black Country outfit. It was an underwhelming performance and one they must improve on, starting this weekend.

In a bid to raise their performance levels, United's players and coaching staff have, of course, been hard at work at their Carrington training base all week, putting plans in place for the clash with Spurs. With that in mind, here are four things that MEN Sport spotted from Thursday's training session.

After playing no part in pre-season and being an unused substitute against Wolves, Anthony Martial will be hoping to feature for the first time since the final day of last season when United travel to Spurs. The Frenchman, 27, suffered a hamstring injury in United's 2-1 success over Fulham on May 28.

It ruled him out of the FA Cup final and he then failed to store a single minute's worth of football under his belt during pre-season. He made the matchday squad against Wolves but watched Marcus Rashford spearhead the attack.
