Manchester United confirm pre-season tour squad

Manchester United have named a 31-man squad for their pre-season tour of the United States.

As the Manchester Evening News reported on Tuesday, Dean Henderson has been included amid discussions over a move to Nottingham Forest but Fred has not travelled.

Fulham are interested in signing Fred, who came on for the second half of United's 1-0 win against Lyon in Edinburgh on Wednesday. United said: "The Brazilian has remained in the UK to deal with a personal issue, but he is expected to join up with the rest of the squad shortly."

Anthony Martial has not played for United since May 27 due to a torn hamstring and he has not trained with teammates during pre-season but he has travelled to the States.

Tyrell Malacia is absent through injury and so is Rhys Bennett. Bennett is injured and Will Fish had been under consideration to travel at his expense but he doesn't make the squad.

Youngsters Kobbie Mainoo, Daniel Gore, Omari Forson and Alvaro Fernandez will embark on their first tour with United. Matej Kovar has been omitted despite playing in United's first two pre-season friendlies against Lyon and Leeds.

Andre Onana arrived at United's Carrington training complex on Wednesday to undergo a medical and is expected to join the squad once his transfer is finalised.

United were still finalising contracts with Onana and Inter Milan, as well as the goalkeeper's visa, but club sources insist the deal is proceeding smoothly.

Eric Bailly and Alex Telles have been excluded from United's travelling party amid plans for them to be sold. Neither have reported back at United's Carrington training complex.
