Real Madrid vs Manchester United LIVE pre-season friendly updates, TV information and Erik ten Hag latest

Manchester United will face off against Spanish giants Real Madrid in Houston, Texas, in the early hours of Thursday.

United played their fourth game of pre-season against Wrexham early on Wednesday morning, but given the Welsh side have just gained promotion to League Two, an academy side was fielded by United for that clash in San Diego.

Wrexham defeated the youngsters 3-1 in a game that was notable more for the punctured lung sustained by Wrexham talisman Paul Mullin than the result itself.

The first-team travelling tour squad will now take on Real Madrid in Houston at the 72,220-capacity NRG Stadium and the latest summer signing Andre Onana, who completed his move from Inter Milan last week, could make his debut.

There will also be eyes on Anthony Martial to see if he makes the matchday squad for the first time this summer. The Frenchman has not played since the final day of the 2022/23 Premier League season after suffering a hamstring injury.

Martial returned to team training in the build-up to the clash with Madrid and could be involved, although it remains to be seen if Amad will make the cut after being forced off with an injury against Arsenal.

The transfer window is in full swing and United have already got their hands on two players, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door at Old Trafford

Erik ten Hag's attention now turns to signing a new goal scorer following their struggles in that department last season. Anthony Martial is the only genuine striker in United's squad and his fitness can not be relied upon, so United are looking at Rasmus Hojlund and Harry Kane as options.
