Manchester United can capture Leny Yoro teammate in £25m Ivan Toney alternative
Should Manchester United wish to complete all of their transfer targets, they may need to look for a bargain at some point.
Once Leny Yoro’s arrival is confirmed the club will have already splashed around £95m on two players, with Joshua Zirkzee costing £36m. United set out to look for a new striker, midfielder and central defenders this summer.
Yoro and Zirkzee tick off two objectives with more signings anticipated. A midfielder is needed and should be the club’s next summer mission given the fragility in the centre of the park last season, Kobbie Mainoo aside.

United are thought to be operating on a net spend of around £50m this summer and have already chalked up a net expenditure of £80m given the small sales of Donny van de Beek, Willy Kambwala and Alvaro Fernandez, although this figure could shrink due to add-ons.
Toney’s arrival would not only disturb the balance of the finance sheets but also potentially cause frontline disruption. A back-up role for Rasmus Hojlund would have been ideal upon his arrival last summer but now he is first-choice, relegating him backwards would not bode well for squad contentment.
That is why Zirkzee has been brought in, to support and challenge Hojlund to reach his full potential. Another striker signing is unlikely. But if United are insistent on another attacker, then
