The number of Manchester United games Leny Yoro will miss after surgery

Leny Yoro has successfully undergone surgery on a foot injury and is set to miss a number of Manchester United's games as he begins rehabilitation.

The club confirmed the news on Monday after he fractured his metatarsal in the opening pre-season friendly against Arsenal in Los Angeles. He is expected to return in around three months and should be available in November.

When asked about Yoro, boss Erik ten Hag said: "That's part of football, that's part of top football especially, that you come into, you go to the edge, every player has to go to the edge. And yeah, then injuries are not avoidable.

"But of course, we have to be ready as a club and as a team to cover this and the players are dealing very well with this setback. They (Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund) are very positive, they are already recovering and they will return."

Although Yoro's injury is a huge blow for United, his lay-off can be seen as an opportunity for the youngster to settle into life in Manchester and familiarise himself with new surroundings.

With that said, MEN Sport has taken a look at the fixtures Yoro will be unavailable for ahead of the new 2024/25 season.

Should Yoro miss the game against Chelsea at the start of November, the defender could make a return when United host newly-promoted Leicester City at Old Trafford on November 9. With that said, the Frenchman could miss between 10 to 12 games.
