Leny Yoro makes one-word Man United promise in fresh statement after injury blow

Leny Yoro has told Manchester United supporters that he will be back “stronger” after undergoing a successful surgery on his left foot.

Yoro was forced off in United’s pre-season friendly defeat to Arsenal last month. He was forced off in the first-half shortly after Rasmus Hojlund went off injured.

On Monday, the club confirmed that the 18-year-old had undergone a successful operation on his fractured metatarsal. He’s set to miss three months of action before returning to Erik ten Hag’s team in November.

Despite the blow of losing their second summer signing, it’s understood that the club are viewing the lay-off as an opportunity for him to settle into life in England.

In response to his successful surgery, Yoro has promised he will return to football “stronger” after having the worst possible start to life at United.

Writing on Instagram with three pictures, including one of him post-operation, he said: “This is not the start I wanted, but that’s football…”

“The operation went well. Thank you for your many messages of support. Now, time for patience and rehabilitation work. See you soon, stronger.”

Yoro also posted a verse from the Bible on Instagram. It read: “Jesus replied, You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand. John 13:7."
