Man Utd add £200m worth of new ammo for Rangers showdown as furious Ten Hag demands no muck-ups

Global giants Manchester United are bringing back a quartet of talent worth £200m as they aim to step it up against Rangers at Murrayfield.

Boss Erik Ten Hag was left boiling by his side's lifeless display in the defeat to Rosenborg and has guaranteed more will be expected moving forward. Ten Hag – emboldened with his new deal – is also closing in on a £100m double deal for defenders Leny Yoro and Matthijs De Ligt.

A fitness update, published on the official Manchester United website, stated: "The United team that faced Rosenborg on Monday had a youthful look to it, with Academy players aplenty getting minutes in Norway. Senior members of Ten Hag's squad, such as Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Jonny Evans started the game but Erik swapped all 10 outfield players for the second half.

"Scott McTominay (returned) to Carrington on Wednesday, following his Euro 2024 exploits with Scotland, and the midfielder could feature in his homeland on Saturday. In addition, the likes of Andre Onana, Antony and Jadon Sancho remained at the training ground, so could play a part against Rangers. Those who have been on international duty - including Copa America winners Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez - are not expected to be back in time for this weekend."

Ten Hag was furious after the loss in Norway and told his players they better sharpen up quickly with Rangers next on their fixture list. He told MUTV: “The result is not secondary. Of course, we play pre-season, but at Man United the standard is you win games and definitely don’t lose games.
