Erik ten Hag has discovered two new exciting Manchester United options

Manchester United are now just a fortnight away from their 2024/25 Premier League opener against Fulham at Old Trafford.

United face Liverpool in their final pre-season friendly of the summer over the weekend and will then prepare for a re-run of the FA Cup final against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley next Saturday. The Reds are determined to put last season's struggles behind them and build on their FA Cup triumph at the end of May. Pre-season, just like any other, has featured both positives and negatives thus far.

United's tour of the United States draws to a close in South Carolina against Liverpool on Saturday night and that will represent Erik ten Hag's last chance to assess his squad before the competitive action gets under way. With that said, MEN Sport has picked out four talking points from the club's pre-season tour thus far.

Amad has been United's best player of their pre-season campaign by a distance. After being left out of the squad that travelled to Norway for their opening friendly against Rosenborg, he has started the subsequent three and scored in two of them.

He was excellent in the 2-0 win against Rangers prior to flying out to the US and he raised his game in the 3-2 win over Real Betis in midweek, scoring an excellent goal and playing a hand in United's other two. He won the penalty for Marcus Rashford to equalise and sent over a corner that led to Casemiro turning home the Reds' third goal.
