Man United receive transfer boost as Chelsea suffer Victor Osimhen blow

PSG are confident of securing a deal for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen and that could have a positive knock-on effect for Manchester United.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed talks between PSG and Osimhen's camp are advancing and the Nigerian international would be open to moving to the Parc des Princes, if a deal can be reached with Napoli.

Sport Mediaset have backed up those claims and they report Osimhen's agent Roberto Calanda has travelled to Paris to speak directly to Les Parisiens and the French champions are hopeful of securing an £84million deal for the 25-year-old.

Osimhen scored 31 goals in all competitions during the 2022/23 campaign, where he helped fire Napoli to the Serie A title. Despite a disappointing title defence which saw the Naples side finish tenth in Serie A last term, Osimhen still managed 17 goals in all competitions and the time could be right for a new challenge.

A move to Paris would see him compete with French international forward Randal Kolo Muani and Portuguese international forward Goncalo Ramos for regular football and it would be a blow for Chelsea, who were keen to sign him this summer.

But it would likely be good news for United, as an expensive move for Osimhen would almost certainly end their interest in Marcus Rashford, at least in the short term.

The England international forward has been linked with a move to the French capital this summer, having also been linked with Luis Enrique's side last year, too.
