Man dies following M67 horror crash

A man has died after a horror crash on the M67 with another driver in a serious condition in hospital. Police were called to the smash on the M67, at the junction with the A57 in, Denton on July 2.

At around 11pm, a Jaguar XF was travelling westbound on the M67 towards the Manchester Road South junction, where a Toyota Prius was stationary at the lights before the crash.

Both drivers were rushed to hospital where they received treatment. However, the Jaguar driver, a 72-year-old man passed away a couple of days later.

The Toyota driver, a 37-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and is continuing to receive treatment. Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Detective Constable Sarah Seddon, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “We have conducted a number of lines of enquiry to ensure we can understand fully what happened.

“We are now able to appeal to the public and especially anyone who was in the immediate area and witnessed what happened late at night as that vital bit of evidence will help us in our investigation.

“The loved ones of the driver who sadly passed are receiving the support they need at this time, with the other driver continuing to assist us as he recovers.”
