Man City trophy bid could hinge on Pep Guardiola hunt for Blue October

Manchester City’s fixtures for the remainder of September see them facing Red Star Belgrade, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle and Wolves, but Pep Guardiola will certainly have one eye on October with some tasty affairs coming up for his side.

Should Guardiola be asked regarding next month’s fixtures, the Spaniard would be sure to answer how he and his men are focused on nothing but the next game, though City's 2017-18 Amazon Prime documentary All or Nothing showed, Guardiola does look ahead to future games rapidly as he stressed about the quality of Liverpool’s front three in the Goodison Park dressing room.

City kick off October with a trip to Germany to face RB Leipzig, with Arsenal, Brighton, Swiss side Young Boys and cross-town rivals Manchester United also on the agenda.

With Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal gunning to end their 20-year Premier League title-winning drought and having come so close last season, Guardiola’s former assistant will be aiming to put a dent into City’s title charge too as they aim to win their fourth Premier League in as many years.

Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton will also prove to be a tough task, with the Seagulls having won four of their five opening games this season, netting 15 times, as Erik ten Hag and United were the latest to be tactically outwitted by the Italian boss last Saturday at Old Trafford.

Brighton are set to start their European debut campaign on Thursday as they host AEK Athens in the Europa League, and they’ll be aiming to go a step further come May, with Champions League football the aspiration at the Amex.
