Man City player ratings vs Barcelona as Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips impress

Nico O'Reilly notched his first senior goal for Manchester City as the Blues drew an entertaining contest with Barcelona in Orlando.

After an 80-minute delay following a lightning storm, City fell behind at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando when Victor Pau strode through the makeshift defence to slot past Ederson. Erling Haaland's effort had earlier crossed the line but the officials didn't spot it, before O'Reilly latched onto a Josko Gvardiol pass to score smartly.

Pablo Torre scored on the stroke of half-time, before Mateo Kovacic's smart turn and run set up Jack Grealish for a much-needed goal, 24 hours after he spoke of wanting to prove people wrong.

Here is how we rated the players at the Camping World Stadium:

Ederson

Couldn't do much about the first goal, got a hand to the second. He was unconvincing against AC Milan and while this was better, it still wasn't Ederson at his best. 6

Rico Lewis

Restored to right-back, Lewis was back to his classy self and displayed some silky footwork. Migrated into midfield in the second half. Having a good pre-season. 6

Josko Gvardiol

Naive for the first goal in his old position of centre-back, but the reverse pass for O'Reilly's equaliser was brilliant. 6

Kalvin Phillips

Under a lot of pressure having dropped into defence, and was a little wide for the Barcelona opener. But let's be fair - he was calm under pressure, kept position well and almost scored at the other end. 7

Josh Wilson-Esbrand

Good going forward, maybe absent for the second Barcelona goal. Holding left-back down well in the absence of senior players. 6

Mateo
