Eberechi Eze sparks Man City transfer frenzy with four-word Phil Foden message

Eberechi Eze has caused quite the storm online after posting online with Manchester City ace Phil Foden. Following the pair's run to the final of Euro 2024 with England, they appear to have continued spending time together.

It comes with Eze being linked with a transfer to the Etihad Stadium this summer, something heightened by Julian Alvarez's departure to Atletico Madrid. As a versatile forward capable of playing wide as well as through the middle, Eze has been viewed as the perfect alternative.

Foden himself was occupying Eze's spot on the left-wing this summer after being deployed there regularly by Gareth Southgate. Eze only played three times in Germany despite his form for Crystal Palace, and he didn't start a single game at the international tournament.

The 26-year-old was effectively the replacement for Jack Grealish in England's 26-man squad but got the treatment often afforded to the City winger when it came to minutes. His output in the Premier League suggests he warrants more of a look in, having scored 11 times and assisting another four in 27 appearances (24 starts).

Now, with the 2024/25 season on the doorstep, Eze has caught the eye of City supporters. Posting on Instagram, Eze uploaded an image of himself crouched next to Foden, who is holding a fish. Eze writes simply: "Caught my first fish."

The pair, situated at a lake, are only seen together in one of the nine photos put up by Eze, but Foden responded, only adding to the speculation. "[Handshake and sky blue heart emojis]" he commented.
