Man City player ratings as Blues duo destroy Luton in FA Cup
Manchester City demolished Luton Town to move into the last-eight of the FA Cup.
Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland combined four times and the Norwegian grabbed a fifth inside an hour as they stormed to victory. Luton came back from 3-0 down with two goals to get back into the contest but they simply had no answers for De Bruyne or Haaland.
Mateo Kovacic added a sixth goal as the Blues as they await Wednesday's draw after a confidence-boosting win to take into the Manchester derby on Sunday. Here are how the players rated.
Ortega: Could do little about the goals and made a few good saves to prevent Luton doing further damage. 7
Walker: A great ball to set De Bruyne free for the fourth but defensively he wasn't on top of his game. 6
Stones: More good work building on the Bournemouth game, romping forward and combining well with the forwards. 8
Akanji: Excellent work for the first goal bringing the ball out of defence, although Luton's second went through him. 7
Ake: A terrific block when City were only 1-0 up to stop the ball getting to Morris in the box, even if he was quieter after. 7
Kovacic: Given the daunting task of taking on the Rodri role and did very well, including a well-taken goal. 8
Nunes: The usual mystery box of wildness, albeit with added commitment on his last few starts. 7
De Bruyne: It doesn't get much better than four assists. Far too good for Luton whenever he strolled forward. 9
Silva: Effective in coming in and sitting alongside Kovacic to allow De Bruyne the platform to roam. 7
Grealish: Looked menacing and Luton struggled to keep track of him until injury unfortunately forced him off early again. 7
Haaland: It's very rare that 10s are handed out but it was also a rare treat for anyone lucky
