Two Man City players could learn their Euro 2024 fate today - and it won't be good news

When Gareth Southgate names his England squad this afternoon, there will be the usual Manchester City contingent represented - with plenty of eyes on Phil Foden.

Foden, Kyle Walker, and John Stones are shoe-ins. Foden's form in the middle in recent months has made him a fan's favourite to be tested by Southgate in an England midfield trio with Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice. With this international break the final squad before the final list for Euro 2024, it will give a clear indication of how Southgate is thinking.

Jack Grealish probably won't be included due to injury, but would make the squad for Germany if fit. It's widely considered that the left-wing spot will come down to him or Marcus Rashford. Then there are two City players who can't have any arguments if they don't make the latest squad - putting their summer involvement at risk.

Rico Lewis earned a first cap in the November international break, called up from the under-21s alongside former Blue Cole Palmer. Whereas Palmer has gone from strength to strength with Chelsea and is arguably one of England's most in-form players this season, Lewis has slipped back to the bench since the last international fixtures. Of the City's 14 games in 2024, he has started just three (against Huddersfield, Burnley and Copenhagen), and been unused nine times.
