Man City have at least 11 decisions to make on players before Manchester United rematch
Manchester City have three brackets of players this summer.
The first are those who will be reporting for pre-season next week and on the plane to the United States for the pre-season tour with Pep Guardiola. A lot of youngsters including James McAtee and Oscar Bobb will make up the initial group, although it will also feature Stefan Ortega, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland.
Then there are those that Guardiola knows he will have to do without. Julian Alvarez is heading straight from the Copa America to Paris for the Olympic Games while either Netherlands (with Nathan Ake) or England (Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, and John Stones) will reach the final of the European Championship next Sunday where Rodri and Spain will also be hoping to be present.

It will be less than three weeks - the recommended minimum period of rest for players between seasons - from the final when City play their final friendly of the tour on August 3 against Chelsea in Ohio, while the Blues like to give their players even longer off when they can. It is unlikely that anyone that goes all the way in Germany will pop up in the US.
For all those players falling into the third bracket, City have a decision to make. When do they fly out to join the first team squad for pre-season, if at all?
Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol exited the Euros on June 24 so should make most of the tour and could even fly out with the main group on July 19. Then things get interesting.
