Man charged after shooting on Greater Manchester street
A man has been charged following a shooting on a street in Oldham.
Police were called to reports of a firearms discharge in Crompton Street, in Coldhurst, on November 15. No one was injured in the incident, officers said.
Daniel Eastmond, 41, of Lime Green Road, Oldham, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Friday).
Detective Inspector Richard Castley from Greater Manchester Police's Serious Organised Crime Group said: “We have managed to secure a charge against a man for an incident that happened just over a month ago – our investigation has been meticulous and is still ongoing.
"Thanks to our proactive efforts, we are helping to prevent harm and protect our communities from further acts of violence. Although most firearm incidents are targeted and do not pose a broader risk to the public, we understand the fear and distress they cause in our communities.”
