Malik Tillman bumper Rangers transfer windfall could be banked NEXT MONTH as PSV step up quickfire deal

Rangers could be in line for a £1.4 million January windfall after PSV technical director Earnie Stewart revealed he's confident of being able to sign Malik Tillman next month.

The on-loan Bayern Munich ace was a big player for the Ibrox side last season, but the deal to make the loan to Scottish football become permanent collapsed this summer after the German giants had a rethink about his future and sent him to the Eredivisie with Rangers' Champions League conquerors PSV instead.

But Rangers received around £1 million compensation because Bayern pulled out of the deal and are reportedly entitled to a further 10 per cent sell-on of the American international's future fee. Tillman has scored five goals and has five assists for PSV and has helped them take a huge 10 point lead at the top of the Dutch league after just 16 games.

And Stewart is convinced his countryman Tillman will soon be completing a £14 million move to the Netherlands. He said: "It is true there is an option to sign both Malik Tillman and Sergino Dest and there is an expectation we will do that with both of them. Fortunately, both of them have indicated they want to stay in Eindhoven. That is of course also very important. As a club, you can want anything, but a player is very important in this. You first discuss it with the player and his management. But things are going very well for Malik and Sergino."

The 21-year-old scored 10 league goals in 22 starts for Rangers last season before being injured in the Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic in April where a hamstring injury ended his time in Glasgow.
