'Major' Metrolink tram disruption after Deansgate crash - LIVE updates

Metrolink trams in the city centre are being hit by delays after a road traffic collision on Wednesday morning.

Reports suggest a crash happened in the area surrounding Deansgate Locks.

The Bee Network confirmed a number of 'service changes' to trams as a result, with tickets now being accepted on buses.

In a statement on social media, the Bee Network said: "Due to a road traffic collision at the bottom of the ramp at Deansgate-Castlefield in the city centre, there are several service changes in place."

The Bee Network said tickets and passes are being accepted on the 85 and the 86 bus services.

Passengers, meanwhile, have reported being stuck at Cornbrook tram stop as a result.
