M4 crash live updates as drivers face long queues

There is heavy traffic on the M4 near Newport after a collision this morning. The M4 westbound was partially blocked between J37 (Highcross) and J28 (Tredegar Park).

Lanes 2 and 3 were closed shortly after 6am due to a collision. Gwent Police asked people to avoid the area and find alternative routes for their journey.

Long queues were reported, with delays of up to 28 minutes back to J25 at Caerleon.

Both lanes reopened shortly after 8am, but there are still some delays.

There is also another incident on the M4 near Cardiff. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports: "M4 Eastbound entry slip road partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident at J32 A470 Northern Avenue (Coryton Interchange)."
