Oldham murder investigation LIVE updates after man found dead
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Oldham.
Emergency services responded after the body of a 50 year-old man was discovered at a property on Eldon Street, in the Alexandra Park area of the town, at around 7.50pm on Wednesday (May 28).
His family have been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The man's cause of death has not yet been determined and 'enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances', the force said in a statement issued this afternoon (Saturday).
The death is being treated as 'suspicious.' A 64-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries as part of the probe and there remains a police presence in the area 'for community reassurance', GMP added.
