Maddison, Dewsbury-Hall - Leicester City injury latest following Tottenham as eyes turn to Roma

Leicester City could be left sweating on the fitness of both James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after the duo were left out of the squad to face Tottenham on Sunday.

Both players have been key in Brendan Rodgers' squad so far this season, Dewsbury-Hall playing in virtually every game since making his breakthrough into the first team back in December. Ahead of the Europa Conference League semi-final second leg vs Roma, Rodgers made eight changes to his starting XI vs Spurs.

But both Maddison and Dewsbury-Hall were left at home. The good news for City was that Timothy Castagne was back in the lineup after leaving the pitch in the first half of the first leg vs Roma, which ended all square at 1-1.

Rodgers confirmed that the full-back was taken off as a precaution after suffering a head injury. But he played the full 90 minutes of the 3-1 loss vs Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eyes now turn to the biggest game of City's season as they aim to make it to a European final. Here's the latest on the injury situation ahead of that game.

: "James Maddison has a little bit [of a problem] with his hip, so those two boys have not travelled. Madders was his hip that he’s had an issue with before. We couldn’t risk them, we kept them at home to continue with their treatment. Fingers crossed they will be okay.”

: Calf. Along with Maddison, the midfielder was omitted from the squad that travelled to North London on Sunday.

"Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had a tight calf anyway, so he wasn't going to be available. He felt a tightness in his calf, so we have to just assess that. Fingers crossed he will be okay."
