Leicester City transfer link emerges as Wesley Fofana leads way against Chelsea

Leicester City had nothing to play for when they travelled to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea on Thursday night but left with a point.

The Foxes took an early lead through James Maddison but were pegged back 10 minutes before the break. Though it would have been easy to have their minds elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers' side were determined to secure a top-half finish and defended well over the course of 90 minutes.

Leading the charge was Wesley Fofana, while Maddison took his goal well. Not everyone was at their best in west London but it was enough to pick up a point and ensure that the last away game of the season didn't end in defeat.

Having won the Premier League title with Leicester in 2016, Kasper Schmeichel could be set to depart the King Power Stadium.

The 35-year-old's contract expires at the end of next season and watched on from the bench last weekend when his side beat Watford 5-1. Though he was recalled to the starting line-up against Chelsea on Thursday, reports have emerged that the club are looking to sign Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Sanchez won't come cheap and Rodgers has already had his say on how likely it is the club move on from a club stalwart in the summer. “He is very happy here," he said. “Of course naturally he is getting to the age where he sees the finishing line a little bit down the line but in my conversations with him he is very happy."
