Tim Sherwood goes on furious rant as Leicester City have a 'field day' against Watford

Tim Sherwood tore into the Watford players for having "no passion" after they were destroyed by Leicester City on Sunday.

A goal from James Maddison and a brace each for Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes secured a brilliant victory for the Foxes at Vicarage Road. The Hornets started the brighter of the two sides, creating several chances as Joao Pedro opened the scoring after just six minutes.

But City pulled ahead before half-time and were simply too strong for the relegated side after the interval. They ran out 5-1 winners to condemn the hosts to the worst home record in the top five divisions this season, winning just eight points at their own ground in 2021/22.

Sky Sports pundit Sherwood staunchly defended outgoing manager Roy Hodgson, pointing out that it was all too easy for Leicester's attacking trio against a "disgraceful" opposition.

"Leicester gave up some chances that they might not be happy with, but then they just got into the game," Sherwood said on flagship show Soccer Saturday. "Maddison and Barnes and Vardy just took over. There was no passion from them Watford players; there was no tackles being made. It's not all about organisation and personnel regarding managers.

"(The camera) kept panning on Roy Hodgson and I was thinking, 'it's not down to him, it's down to the individual players'. Now, Rob Edwards is coming in as the manager; he's not going to be too excited about what he saw on that pitch. Because, first and foremost, he doesn't get a say in who's recruited. They can't get rid of a lot of these players. A lot of them think they're too big for the Championship, where they're going to be next season.
