M60 traffic LIVE updates as queues build on THREE motorways following crash

Drivers are facing delays on three motorways following a crash on the M60.

Queues are building after a crash on the M60 clockwise between junctions 16 at Pendlebury and 17 at Prestwich and Whitefield this morning (November 1).

The motorway was also briefly affected by animals on the road in the same area this afternoon, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.

Traffic is tailing back to junction 13 at Worsley on the clockwise side, according to Google traffic data.

There is also congestion on the M61 southbound approaching the ring road.

Motorists are also facing delays on the opposite side of the road towards the crash scene, with queues backing up past Simister Island.

Traffic on the westbound M62 is building up towards junction 19 at Heywood and Middleton.

A post from Inrix said: "Slow traffic due to earlier accident on M60 clockwise from J16 A666 Manchester Road (Pendlebury) to J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield).

"Congestion to Swinton Interchange."

"Queueing traffic due to animals on road on M60 in both directions between J15 M61 J1 (Swinton Interchange) and J17 (Prestwich / Whitefield).

"Approach with care."

There is heavy traffic on the M60 clockwise following the crash, with queues still backing up to junction 13 at Worsley.
